View from the loft.
Progressive social change is not merely about changing policies, but about changing hearts and minds. Genuine and lasting change requires a paradigm shift, a transformation of the mentality that propped up the old order. We must knock out the foundations of oppression and cultivate the values that form the foundation of justice, values such as compassion, integrity, and reciprocity. And to challenge injustice everywhere, we must practice justice everywhere: on streets, in the courtroom—and on our plates.
Do whatever the fuck makes you feel alive
I want pretty.
Not the kind of pretty you see in movie stars, but a make-you-believe-in-God pretty. The kind that sits right behind the eyes. So that when you catch them at just the right angle, you glimpse her constellations.
Heres the thing. I’m an easy person. I don’t mean easy to get in bed. I mean easy to make happy. Play with my hair. Buy me coffee. Hold my hand. Dance in the rain with me. Tell me stupid jokes. Sleep next to me and hold me tight. Let me read while you play video games. Be friends with other girls but come home with me. Let’s go for walks. Let’s play catch. Let’s lay in bed all day and night and watch movies and talk. Let’s order pizza at 2am and binge watch our favorite shows. Kiss my forehead. Let me vent and tell me everything is alright. I promise that I’m worth it. Just give me a chance.
- me: attention! attention! i need it! give me attention!
- also me, beating myself with a broom: you! don't! deserve! love!
